New York: National Urban League, n. d. (1963) Oblong 8vo, original pictorial paper folder with a collage by LoMonaco, containing seven leaves, including introduction, contents leaf and five collages by LoMonaco. "This collection of graphic collages has been created specifically as a memento for those who participated in the historic March on Washington for Freedom and Jobs on August 28, 1963. It depicts man's inhumanity, his cruelty to his fellow being. This memento, we believe, will inspire us to assert man's decency and goodness through an understanding of anguish." (Introduction) Signed in facsimile by the march organizers and leaders including Martin Luther King, Jr., A. Philip Randolph, James Farmer, Roy Wilkins, Whitney M. Young Jr., and Josephus (then the last living slave of antebellum America). OCLC World Cat locates 3 copies; a fourth copy resides at the Library of Congress. Some small tears and wear at the edges of folder; foxing to rear panel of folder; tape to verso of some plates; a few tears to plates, mainly surface; otherwise a good copy of this incredibly rare piece of Civil Rights-era Americana.
