Large 8vo, early half-cloth over marbled boards, gilt-lettered spine. One of 150 copies of the facsimile edition of this satirical view of life, chiefly among the tobacco ("sot-weed") men, in early Maryland. The facsimile, like the first edition, is very rare in itself. Wear to boards; f.f.e.p. and half-title starting to detach; clipped article ("Literature" Feb 17, 1999) regarding the acquisition of a copy of this edition by the New York Public Library tipped to front pastedown; otherwise in very good condition.
