English, 19th century. Wooden rectangular tea caddy with inlaid shell decoration in oval medallion on top of hinged lid and front of storage box. Box with additional decoration in corners of top and front and striped inlay work on edges. Tea caddy composed of mahogany and satinwood. Hinged lid opens to three compartments within with lift top doors with brass pulls (one lid is set and does not lift off). Each lid decorated with oval medallion with floral decoration. Interior of hinged lid with diamond form decoration. Antique box raised on four bone or ivory feet. Height 5.75 inches, width 10.25 inches, depth 5.5 inches.
