A group of 21 AAF escape charts, printed on synthetic silk cloth. Washington, D.C., 1945. Two-sided, in color, housed in custom illustrated boards, sewn to folio sheets of paper to one edge. Issued to pilots in the Pacific Theater of WWII to be worn as neck scarves in the event they were shot down. One of most impressive examples is No. C 52 Japan and South China Seas (verso) No. 53 East China Sea (recto), of which this collection has two copies. Some browning to edges; otherwise fine. Size of largest 32 1/2 x 34 inches.
