Venice: Aldus, 1518. 8vo, 19th Century full red morocco, five raised bands, Aldus insignia to boards, all edges gilt. The second Aldine edition of the letters of Pliny the Younger, preceded by the first of 1508. The "X" in the date (MDXVIII) has been erased, leaving a small hole. Rubbing to extremities of binding; fading to spine; title page browned; evidence of washing to several leaves; otherwise a fine copy.
