Sold for:
$28,800

A gold lamé suit worn by Elton John but made by Nudie Cohn for Elvis Presley. The tags within the suit read "Elvis Presley/ Lot 7492 Size 40." On June 27, 1976, John met Presley backstage after a show in Landover, Maryland, and it is believed that on this visit or another backstage visit the suit was given to John. John wore this or a similar suit during a 1984 concert while on his Breaking Hearts Tour. As early as 1957, Cohn had created this now iconic suit style for Presley. The suit has rhinestone details at the coat collar and trim, and the trousers have a rhinestone tuxedo stripe down each pant leg. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the Elvis Presley Museum and a photocopy of a Nudie's measurement form containing Presley's information. Categories:
