An original, large-scale miniature scaffolding tower created and filmed for the production of The Lord of the Rings trilogy (New Line Cinema 2001, 2002, 2003). An integral part of the production of the epic trilogy was the creation of incredibly detailed, filming miniatures, allowing for the seamless integration of live action, CGI and miniature effects work. This scaffold tower was built for the specific shot in Fellowship of the Ring where Saruman’s crow spies return to him and report on the movement of the Fellowship as the camera follows them dramatically into the tunnels under Isengard. One of many in-jokes placed into filming set-ups from the Miniature Unit, this 50cm tall balsa wood scaffold/tower has a Soyus-type space capsule built into the base, dressed to look like an old boiler. Height, 25 inches PROVENANCE Accompanied by a detailed letter of authenticity from the model maker who created this piece. Categories:
