Five mixed media on board sketches attributed by the Travilla estate as being Travilla costume designs of Rachel Ward as a more mature Meggie Cleary in The Thorn Birds (Warner Bros. Television, 1983). Travilla received a nomination from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for outstanding costume design for a limited series or special 1982-1983 for The Thorn Birds , Part 1 .
