A medium blonde 3/4 wig custom made for Lana Turner in her role as Diane de Poitiers in the period film Diane (MGM, 1956). The wig is made of human hair and hand tied one strand of hair at a time to a lace mesh with silk bands in the interior to give the appearance of a scalp. Studio wigs at the time were custom made and fitted to measure by the star's head and hairline. An MGM label reads "773," and a Max Factor Studios label reads "M252422" with a corresponding MGM wig stock record card typed "773 L.Turner Lt. Blonde 3/4 fall... Prod. #1675" and the original box with a label that reads "773 3/4 Fall Lt. Blonde L.Turner." The wig was acquired from MGM upon the closure of its hair and wig department. Accompanied by a canvas wig block and a copy of the film. Categories:
