A burgundy wool coat dress designed by Caroline Charles and worn by Princess Diana in 1982 while visiting the Milan Asian Community Playgroup in Wandsworth, London and in 1983 at Aberdeen Airport carrying Prince William when returning to London from Balmoral. The dress has loop and fabric covered buttons and a self-tie belt. Previously exhibited at Kensington Palace in 2008 for three years with a three-year extension in 2011 and toured with agreement from Kensington Palace Appleton Museum of Art, "Diana, Princess of Wales: Dresses for a Cause," 2007-2008; St. Petersburg Museum of History, 2008; The Von Liebig Art Center, "Princess Diana: Dresses of Inspiration," 2010; The Fashion Museum Assembly Rooms, "The Diana Dress Exhibition," July 2010-January 2011; and Queen Mary, 2012-present.
