An Elvis Presley signed check and documents relating to the purchase of Circle G Ranch. The check is written to Jack Adams, dated February 9, 1967, in the amount of $5,000, numbered “2703,” and drawn from an account with National Bank of Commerce in Memphis, Tennessee. The check is signed “E.A. Presley” by Elvis Presley with a notation at the edge of the check that may have been written by Vernon Presley: “As earnest money towards purchase of Twinkletown Farms, (160) acres all cattle equipment as stated in contract.” The check is accompanied by a three-page typed inventory, written by Vernon Presley, that lists the fees for horses and equipment; a section of adding machine tape calculating the dollar amounts of these expenses; and a certificate of authenticity from Elvis Presley Enterprises.
