Three watercolor costume drawings on illustration board from "The Yearling" (MGM, 1946). Lot includes the costume drawings for: Penny Baxter, played by Gregory Peck; Jody, played by Claude Jarman Jr.; and Mr. Boyles played by Henry Travers. Travers is better known for his role of Clarence, Jimmy Stewart’s guardian angel in "It’s a Wonderful Life." Peck was nominated for an Academy Award for his role of Penny, but his first win would not come until 1963 when he won for his portrayal of Atticus Finch in "To Kill a Mockingbird."
