Gibson Guitar Sclupture, 10 foot tall, fiberglass. Cesar Santalo, an internationally reknowned artist, holds a Bachelor's degree from Pratt Institute, and a Master's of Fine Arts from the University of Miami. He was an adjunct professor ath the University of Miami from 2000 - 2006, where he taught advanced illustration. Santalo has won many regional and national awards, including the Dante Fascell Congressional Art Award, Art Innovations National Winner, and Best of Show Lowe Museum, among others. Santalo designed and illustrated the posters for Cuba Nostalgia 2006 and 2009. In Miami, having a "cafecito" in the morning or at any time of the day, has taken on sacramental proportions. When someone shows up with a "colada" (a large cup of cafecito), it brings half a dozen people together. A "cafetera" brews friendship. I tried to blend the intensity of coffee as a Miami driving force with the energy of the hot rod flames of traditional Rock 'n' Roll. Caliente means hot...Miami is hot. Its weather, its people, and its cafecitos. In Miami, a cafetera brings people together to share, to remember, to hope, and to dream; just like music. Categories: Gibson Guitar
