Watercolor, pencil, and pen on paper by Edith Head for the film "The Blue Bird" (20th Century Fox, 1976) one sketch of the character Luxury played by Ava Gardner and the other of Elizabeth Taylor who played multiple roles in the film—Queen of Light, Mother, Witch, Maternal Love. Head went on location to the Soviet Union to work on the film which was riddled with problems for Head and director George Cukor. Cukor accused actress Cicely Tyson of cursing the film with voodoo. Cukor and producer Edward Lewis were only speaking to each other through their lawyers towards the end of filming, among other problems. Categories: Edith Head
