Epiphone Casino Guitar. Born on Eastern Long Island, John DeFaro has earned considerable artistic renown by taking the familiar and making it new. As a painter, photographer, sculptor, designer, colorist, and activist, he has been consistently praised for the freshness of his vision and the radiant light of his palette. Like nature, John continues to throw his weight around with recycling and repurposing in mind. Recent two and three dimensional artworks incorporate organic materials such as long dried seedpods from the Poinciana tree within the South Florida landscape. He approaches nature as an integral, tangible force in life, drawing on traditions ranging from the 1960's land artists to the abstract approach favored by many of today's emerging artists. The inspiration for this guitar is recognizing Miami's verve, the precarious urban growth and all the time more environmental conversations, a strong pulse is realized. The spontaneity during the making of art involving my body and soul with my environs is the project ambition. I associate the guitar to the mockingbird. I imagine the bird well aquainted with the land and sea, dreaming unique imagery later to gift us endless melodies throughout the day. At night, the mockingbird continues to sing its nature personally, in our impersonal world. I like to feel, no matter how long one spends on our sub tropic location, all will bend to the 'rhythms of Florida's greens and blues'. Categories: Epiphone Casino Guitar
