Original, vintage blueprint titled “Fantasy Land Castle” and “South Or Front Elevation” that illustrates the iconic façade of the famous Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland. Labeled “Disneyland Inc.,” this blueprint was executed by “WED Enterprises, Inc.” Dated “2-12-55,” this architectural rendering details nearly every aspect of the castle from the wind vane atop Tower #11, the castle’s tallest tower, to the widening plinth that slips beneath the moat’s waterline. A note for Tower #11 reads “This tower to be prefabricated in sections to fit around Kaiser column as per detail.” A space for the castle’s crest above the drawbridge entrance to Fantasyland is present, but has been left blank. This view of Sleeping Beauty Castle greets visitors as they enter Disneyland through Main Street, U.S.A. and was aligned to face south to prevent the sun’s backlighting for photographs.
