Acrylic on fiberglass, signed by Graham Coxon 3100 mm by 1070 mm Mel A. Initially trained at Bromley Art College but decided to pursue a career in marketing while continuing with painting on a semi-professional basis. Mel generally works in oils and has produced commissions to order on a wide range of subjects but specialising in beach scenes and sea-scapes. Mel has also developed a specialist skill in Old Master copies and for a time painted on a regular basis at the Tate Gallery. "I am proud to be contributing to Gibson GuitarTown London as it’s a unique project uniting the power of British music together with visual artists for the good causes" Graham Coxon The artist says of this piece: "It’s really a tattoo for a blackguard seafaring guitar. I took some heart and arrow symbolism and there’s a bit of a nod to Japan in the wave. I drew it in the café where I do most of my artwork and lyrics. It took me about half an hour, cos of the magic of the café." Categories:
