A Russian hand-held spacewalk thruster unit used during the spacewalk featuring cosmonaut Maxim Brajlovsky, played by Elya Baskin, and Dr. Walter Curnow, played by John Lithgow, in 2010 : The Year We Make Contact (aka "2010" MGM, 1984). The handpainted fiberglass unit is constructed with an internal valve system and a screw fitting for a pressurized canister that can be triggered by an installed valve and wire system. The unit also has an attached control pad that is missing its cover and a water slide decal of the Russian spacecraft seal and Russian star in red. The unit is also missing the side access panel, which was used to replace canisters. The thruster can also be seen in the background in the EVA prep area and used by Roy Scheider.
