A costume possibly worn by Irene Dunne in High , Wide and Handsome (Paramount, 1937), designed by Travis Banton. The dress has a black velvet corseted bodice with rhinestone grommets and black tulle trim and a tutu skirt tulle over cream satin with a built-in black petticoat. The skirt is garnished with black sequins, tulle flowers, and pom-poms. A Paramount tag written "AV 5" is on the bodice and skirt. On the skirt lining, a Paramount tag on waistline reads "Dunne's double." The term double on the label during this period could refer to a duplicate costume or a stunt double.
