Black and white photograph of Marilyn Monroe in a wardrobe shot from Let’s Make Love (The Company of Artists, 1960), November 11, 1959. Directed by George Kukor, Let’s Make Love starred Marilyn Monroe, Yves Montand, Frankie Vaughan, and Tony Randall. Unhappy with the script Marilyn had her husband, Arthur Miller, do a rewrite tailoring it more to her, for which he was uncredited. Gregory Peck was slated for the lead but decided against it when he read Miller’s rewrite. Cary Grant, Charlton Heston, and Rock Hudson all turned down the male lead. Yves Montand took the role in the course of filming the movie he and Monroe had an affair. Verso is written with Wardrobe Test from Let’s Make Love 1960, in black ink and Marilyn Monroe in red pencil. 10 by 7 7/8 inches Categories: Marilyn Monroe
