Graphite, oils and sealant on fiberglass, signed by Mayor Will Wynn. This Gibson Guitar sculpture includes a photograph of Mayor Wynn with the guitar. 10 by 3 1/2 feet Sharon Roy Finch GuitarTown Austin makes me a third-time participant in a large-scale street art campaign, having contributed painted sculptures to both "Party Animals" and "Pandamania" in Washington, DC. An award-winning illustrator, my work has been recognized by the Society of Illustrators in New York, and has appeared in Print, Communication Arts and How magazines. I was raised in New York and am a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, having lived in Italy, Massachusetts and DC, I came to Austin "as soon as I could" five years ago. From painted metal stars to assemblages on canvas to work for print, I've been pursuing my passion for art, which reflects my life and affection for Austin. "I'm really honored to get to be involved in such a great project. Austin GuitarTown not only highlights the dynamic music and visual arts scene here in town, but it also will raise money for some related non-profits who are doing great work keeping Austin thriving."
