Mixed media and neon incandescent lighting on fiberglass. 10 by 3 1/2 feet Of this piece the artist says: "Live Wire" refers to the literal electrification of this piece via neon and incandescent light; it also refers to the feeling one gets playing an electric guitar, and how transitory and ecstatic that moment can be." Evan Voyles Born and raised in Austin, Texas, and on his family’s Lazy V Ranch, Evan Voyles holds a degree in English from Yale University; his subsequent “education” included years spent on the road, researching and collecting Americana. He successfully turned this passion into a business – The Neon Jungle – and has created signage and décor under this aegis for many of the foremost clubs, restaurants, and boutiques in Austin, as well as for venues from New York to Japan. Recently he has expanded the scope of his work to include paintings, which are now on display in collections and galleries around the country. He lives in Austin with his wife Gail Chovan and their twin children. Sponsored by: Gibson Guitar Corp. Categories:
