A special effects axe used during the attack on Conan’s village by the warriors of Thulsa Doom, played by James Earl Jones, in Conan the Barbarian (Universal, 1982). This 25-inch axe with a retractable tip was used to kill Conan’s father, played by William Smith. The axe has a hollow metal head with the spring-loaded tip and is lashed to the wooden handle by a leather strap. A leather strap is also wrapped around the handle for a grip, and a leather wrist strap is run through the handle. This axe comes with a certificate of authenticity from The Prop Store of London.
