With floral inlay. Interior label has text in Cyrillic, but serial number 264-95-54 and a date of 1994 are legible. According to Larry English, this instrument was built by a Russian luthier in St. Petersburg when it was illegal to build musical instruments. The wood was secretly salvaged from sunken ships in the harbor area of the city. The soundboard was made from a spruce mast, and the fancy elm burl and ebony were from cabins. The luthier made his own tuners out of ivory and silver covers. The neck is ebony. This instrument is in very fine condition. This lot will only be shipped domestically. Categories:
