A 1980 Chrysler Town & Country station wagon purchase by Lucille Ball in 1979 from the Barish Chrysler Plymouth dealer on La Brea Avenue in Los Angeles. Lucy titled the car in her company’s name, “Lucille Ball Productions.” In this car, Lucy ran errands around Los Angeles, shopping for material at the House of Silk on Beverly Boulevard and arriving for hair appointments at Salon Cristophe in Beverly Hills. It was also in this car that Lucy arrived for an important meeting with Emmy Award-winning costume designer Ret Turner, whom Lucy chose to design the gown she would wear for her appearance at the 1989 Academy Awards. Lucy always sat in the passenger’s front seat while her chauffeur and majordomo, Frank Gorey, drove. In addition to rides around Beverly Hills, this station wagon took Lucy on some important outings. It was in this station wagon that Gorey drove Lucy to the Goldwyn Studios in 1986 for the first day of filming of her last television series, Life With Lucy. Later that year, shortly after former husband Desi Arnaz died, Lucy was inducted into the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. This Town & Country station wagon is the car Gorey drove to take Lucy and her husband, Gary Morton, to Los Angeles International Airport to get them on their flight to Washington, D.C. When traveling to her vacation home in Palm Springs, Lucy preferred making the trip in her Town & Country wagon because it had plenty of room. A photograph of Lucy loading the ha
