A wrought iron gate from the lobby elevator at Chumley’s Rest Sanitarium, where Elwood P. Dowd, played by Jimmy Stewart, is committed for his eccentric behavior in Harvey (Universal, 1950). This 36 by 34 1/2-inch gate is seen prominently in the lobby area of the sanitorium, and Stewart is unceremoniously shoved past this gate and into the elevator by Wilson the orderly, played by Jesse White.
