A bikini of crocheted white cotton and nylon ribbon and fishing wire accented with crystals. The bikini bottoms contain a label from New York boutique Barely Mary. The bikini bottoms were worn by Janet Jackson as she appeared on the cover of the September 2006 issue of Vibe magazine. Accompanied by a framed copy of the magazine cover and a framed handwritten letter from Mary Apple, the designer of the suit, stating “...The bikini, which is the only one of its kind in the world, was handmade by myself, Mary Apple, the senior designer at Barely Mary...this swimsuit was loaned to Kim Bowen, a stylist, for the use of the cover shoot...only the bottom was actually worn in the photo on the cover...” Categories:
