A group of papers including an original typed copy of the 20-page story treatment dated "11/9/66. " The treatment was written by Lee Minoff in his London hotel room in a single night. Minoff was one of four writers credited for the screenplay of the film, and the distribution of credit for the various concepts in the film has been contentious. One thing is certain: In the early stages of the film's development, Al Brodax brought young writer, Lee Minoff, from America to meet with Paul McCartney and develop the concept for an animated film based on The Beatles' music. Includes are a 25-page copy of the "Expanded version" of the story treatment; a 108-page "First Rough Draft" of Minoff's screenplay dated May 31, 1967; an original bound second draft of the screenplay autographed by Minoff together with some file copies of legal letters, including an original copy of the agreement between Minoff and King Features dated October 4, 1966 signed in blue ink by Lee Minoff and Al Brodax, director. The lot also includes the four original seven-inch reels of Beatles music given to Minoff to inspire his concept for the film's story. Among these reels is a copy of "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" which had not yet been released, and a copy of the book, "Inside the Yellow Submarine," inscribed to Minoff by the author.
