A pair of graphite on board scene drawings by renowned marine and landscape painter Duncan Gleason. Gleason enjoyed great success as a painter and in 1924 exhibited his work at what is now known as the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Later in his career he did work for both Warner Brothers and MGM in the art departments. The first drawing, signed in the lower right "D. Gleason," is titled "Int. Confederate Hospital" and is possibly for a scene in the 1941 film "They Died With Their Boots On." The second is a drawing of a man in a striped shirt swimming, possibly from "Passage To Marseilles" is signed in the upper right "Duncan Gleason." 11 by 14 inches Categories:
