A shooting jacket worn by legendary actor Charlton Heston as Jason Colby in the pilot episode of the television series The Colbys (Aaron Spelling, 1985-1987). The garment is constructed of tan wool blend fabric with brown suede patches at the elbows and right shoulder and woven leather buttons. The jacket was custom made for the actor by Joe Klapperman of Beverly Hills, and the interior of the garment has the original tailoring label inscribed "Charlton Heston Aug. 1985." Heston wore this jacket in the pilot episode of the series entitled “The Celebration,” which aired Nov. 20, 1985. The character wore the jacket during the scene where Jason is skeet shooting at his club and is approached by Zach Powers (played by Ricardo Montalban). Jason learns that Powers is behind recent rumors in China that are affecting his business and gives him a stern warning to back off. The Colbys was a spin-off from the popular television series Dynasty (Aaron Spelling, 1981-1989), where Heston’s character appeared in three episodes. The series was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Cinematography for a Series and won a People’s Choice Award for Favorite New TV Dramatic Program in 1986. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Categories: Charlton Heston
