A brown suit purportedly worn by Sydney Greenstreet as Supt. George Edward Grodman in The Verdict (Warner Bros., 1946). The pin-dot weave two-piece period suit consists of a jacket with a notched lapel, two rounded lower flap pockets, brown button front closure with a Warner Brothers Studio cleaning tag and a pair of matching pants with two slit pocket, button front closure. An internal Warner Bros. label is inscribed “Sidney Greenstreet 54 w. 31” with “1920 2PC” written in white fabric pen. The suit is believed to have been worn by Greenstreet in several scenes, including when he is looking for Paul Cavanagh’s witness. Costume design by Travilla.
