A bodice worn by Donna Reed as Ann Daniels in the Beyond Glory (Paramount, 1948). The vintage bodice is constructed of cream and brown satin with netting with woven satin ribbon details at the waist, and gathered tulle at the bustline. An internal Paramount costume department label is inscribed “Donna Reed” in black ink. Reed wore this bodice in the scene where she attends the dance at West Point Military Academy with Capt. Rockwell “Rocky” Gilman, portrayed by Alan Ladd. She also wore the garment in several poster images and promotional stills from the film. The original skirt was removed and additional hook and eye closures were added to the garment for use in a subsequent production. Costume design by Edith Head.
