A period costume worn by Dorothy McGuire as Margaret Carey Summer Magic (Walt Disney, 1963). The two-piece period costume consists of a bodice jacket with three-button closure, shawl lapel, two pocket flaps with three buttons detail, black velvet trim, ribbon, and ivory crocheted lace on cuffs and a floor-length skirt with black velvet band and button detail and box pleat hemline. A Western Costume Co. label inscribed “DOROTHY Mc GUIRE 11oo-1” is in the skirt. The costume was worn in the opening scene when the family decides to move to Maine. Costume design by Bill Thomas. Post-production alterations are present. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and a copy of the film. Categories:
