Unsigned. Beginning in the 1940s, Amino was one of the first sculptors to experiment with plastics. First drawn to the material by his desire to add "integral" color to his sculptures as opposed to decorating the surface, Amino's fluid forms were perfectly suited to the medium. Influenced by Moholy-Nagy's plastic constructions, Amino grew increasingly interested in light refraction. The minimalist aesthetic of Amino's later work focuses further on the idea of color embodied in hard, cubic forms and the play of light across the austere surfaces.
