Jack R. Hopkins exhibited at the Pasadena Art Museum in the 1971 exhibition California Design Eleven. Hopkin's work is aligned with progressive craftsman furniture of the sixties and seventies that aimed to produce unique forms from traditional woodworking techniques. This unique lounge chair incorporates a built-in light, bookshelf, and footrest and has contoured armrests that are fitted to the human body. Hopkins frequently utilized unlikely elements such as stereo components and lighting in his designs, which he set into stylized and highly contoured furniture forms.
