Armand Désiré Gautier (French, 1825-1894), "Five French Nuns Strolling on Normandy Coast", oil on wood panel. Signed lower right. Finely painted work depicting five female nuns wearing religious habit with white coif on head and black robes. Gautier has been called the Painter of the Sisters of Charity due to his fine work with this subject matter. Framed 16.25" x 20.125". Unframed 8.9" x 12.9". Provenance: From a Private Collection in Atlanta, Georgia
