USA, 1967
The Corvette hails as one of the most iconic sports cars of the 20th century.
The 1967 model is highly desirable and rare, as it was the last year that the C2 body style was manufactured. Fewer examples of this model were made due to the expected anticipation of the C3 release in 1968, which suffered a backlash due to the popularity of the C2. To this day the 1967 model remains one of the most collectible cars of the period. The profile of the Corvette is distinctly modern with a sleek, aggressively defined body shape. Designed by Larry Shinoda, under the styling direction of Bill Mitchell, inspiration for the C2 varied from the Jaguar E2 luxury car to a Mako shark that Mitchell caught while fishing. The design reflects an unmatched passion and energy for speed, style and sporting. This example is a numbers-matching example and features a 327-cubic-inch V8 engine, a 4-barrel carburetor, 4-wheel disc breaks and a 4-speed manual transmission.
