The surface of this prototype bench has been rubbed with oil and lemon as well as treated with wax; for subsequent works in the edition Tuttle excluded the surface treatment. This work is the prototype aside from the edition of four published by the artist and Dwight Hackett Projects, Santa Fe. Sold with a copy of the original invoice.
