Chinese, Late 19th century/early 20th century. Oriental carved wooden chest with figural decoration on chest top within a floral and spiral patterned border. Figures depicted in an ornate outdoor garden setting marked with numerous blossoming trees and some scattered architectural elements. Additional carved figural scenes on side panels and front panel with brass escutcheon. Wooden chest with a hinged lid that leads to a cedar lined storage compartment within. Chest raised on four carved wood feet. Height 24 inches, width 40.5 inches, depth 20.5 inches.
