Stamped "Diego" with monogram.
Diego Giacometti collaborated with his brother Alberto on interiors for Jean-Michel Frank in the 1930s. Soon after, Diego developed his own designs for furniture and lighting which were adorned with plant and animal motifs. Only a few of his designs are independent sculptures. His sculpture, L'Autruche, or Ostirch, utilizes an ostrich egg to create the volume of the bird creating a juxtaposition between the delicate white of the egg shell and the solid bronze. more
