19th century, American Civil War wall map mounted in a glazed frame attached to original wooden scroll form wall hanging. Antique paper map shows terrain of the Battle of Chancellorville which took place from April 30-May 6, 1863. Top of map printed with "CHANCELLORVILLE Prepared by Bvt. Brig General N. MICHLER, Major of Engineers from Surveys under his direction By Order of Brig. Gen. A.A. HUMPHREYS. Chief of Engineers and under the Authority of the Hon. Secretary of War. 1867." Bottom of map with "Surveyed & drawn by Maj: J.W. Wages, assisted by F. Theilkuhl, J. Strasser & G. Thompson." Bottom also with "Photolith by the N.Y. Lithographing, Engraving & Printing, Julius Bien, Sup." as well as "Lettering by J. de la Camp." Archival framing with UV acrylic; measures 37 inches x 40 inches. Unframed (including wood dowel rod at top and bottom) 23 inches x 25 inches.
