The weather-worn landscapes, wrinkled faces, rehab-ready buildings, antique furniture and room interiors I paint all have a story to tell. I hope the viewer’s own experiences elicit a connection, maybe the same sense of nostalgia and intimacy I feel from the subjects I paint. Though I have never been at a loss for painting subjects in and around my home, I have been profoundly influenced and inspired by my experiences traveling in Ireland. I have made five trips so far, each time steering clear of the tourist areas in order to truly absorb the real spirit of the people and the land.
