Florence Wender (1919-2008) was an avid painter who experimented with a wide variety of print media, papermaking and collage. She studied with master-printers Don Stacy and Joe Leober. In 1973, along with four other like-minded artists, Florence Wender co-founded the Printmaking Council of New Jersey. More than thirty years later, the Council provides opportunities for artists, educational workshop for children and adults, and studio facilities furthering the art of the print in the Council"s permanent home in Somerville, New Jersey. In the 1990s, she participated in two handmade book projects, "In my Wildest Dreams," featuring the work of contemporary New Jersey artists. Selected works from the artist"s collection are being offered here for the first time in the secondary market in this auction and upcoming events. FLORENCE WENDER (American, 1919-2008) Three untitled works of art, two on canvas, one on board. Largest: 22" x 47".
