American, 20th century. Oil on canvas painting depicting a seated white terrier dog resting on a large red velvet cushion or pillow in a dark interior next to a red fringed floor lamp. Monogrammed by the artist lower left (H. Caulder). Contained in a hand carved 22k gilt wood frame. Verso of frame with "Oetgen 10032". According to the consignors, purchased from the Rockefeller Collection in New York in 1983. Framed 39 inches x 34 inches. Unframed 30 inches x 25 inches. Provenance: From the Estate of Mr. Thomas V. and Mrs. Marie B. Patton, Atlanta, Georgia.
