Half-sheet ( 20 x 30”) poster advertising “The Famous Wood Milne Mikado Rubber Heel.” The popularity of Gilbert and Sullivan’s operetta, which debuted in 1885, spawned the use of its characters in advertising, as is the case here. Poster depicts Japanese character with fan, performing magic trick by maintaining shoe heel and butterflies aloft. Linen mounted. B+.
