979. Three Hand-Painted Playing Card Cases. Circa early to mid-twentieth century. Including a finely made hinged walnut case, hand-painted with daisies on all sides and suit symbols on the lid, fitted with compartments for two decks; an oak case with fitted lid, with a secondary mahogany structure and painted with gold finials and playing cards, for two decks; the third case, with a sliding top, decorated with a colorful banner of birds and flowers, and painted sides, for two decks. All approx. 4 ½ x 3 ½ x 2”. Minor external wear, but very good overall.
