Carter, Charles. Charles Carter’s Fairy Ribbon Shears. New Haven Connecticut, Petrie & Lewis, ca. 1928. Specially-crafted scissors which allow the magician to cut through a strip of ribbon, then restore it. Nickel silver. Hallmarked. With original box (held together with tape and lacking one side), shears in good condition. Accompanied by a typed letter from J.A. Petrie to Carter explaining an alternative handling of the trick, other instructions as supplied by Petrie, and a letter of provenance from the former owner, who removed the shears from one of Carter’s theatrical trunks.
