Anderson, J. H. Professor Anderson Black Eyed Susan Playbill. Whitechanel, Henry Powncery, 1856. Double-sided bill heralding Anderson’s performance as an actor in Black Eyed Susan and Rob Roy. Framed with glass on two sides to an overall size of 13 x 18 ¼”; wear, small losses, and tears visible, but not examined out of frame. Although Anderson styled himself a dramatic actor of note, he was far more successful – critically and financially – as a conjurer than as a thespian.
