Talma (Mary Ann Ford). Talma’s palming coin. Being a brightly plated 1867 English penny. Plated copper. 30mm. Keuthe PC7. Findlay 136. Originally in the collection of Edgar Heyl; owned and used by Talma. Rare. Instead of using English crowns in her coin manipulation act, Talma had copper pennies – including this one – brightly plated for better visibility from the stage. A gifted student of T. Nelson Downs, Talma was one of the foremost female magicians of the 20th century.
