Okito (Theo. Bamberg). One-page Okito TLS to Alton Sharpe. Bamberg writes from Kentucky, where he was employed by the Don Redmon Company as a builder and designer of illusions. Okito gives Sharpe license to produce a dove vanishing trick, saying, in part, “I had some bitter experience with that effect…Mr. Jack Quine [Gwynne] claimed this invention, which was absolutely untrue. Therefore this new generation should know the real originator of this effect.” He is referring to the Flip-Over box, generally credited in the literature to Gwynne. Dated Jan. 15, 1953. One 4to sheet. Signed “Theo.”
